TAC Claims

TAC claims Policy – Updated June 2021

If you are claiming your physiotherapy treatment through the TAC (Transport Accident Commission), please be aware of our practice policy outlined below:

BodyMotion Physiotherapy – TAC claims Policy – Updated June 2018 – PLEASE NOTE: You will now need to pay a GAP fee on your physiotherapy sessions up to the amount of our private physiotherapy sessions. You will need to pay our full fee & claim back from the TAC directly
Unfortunately you’ve been injured in a car accident and you need Physiotherapy treatment to assist you to recover. What happens now?
Please firstly be aware that until you reach the “excess” amount for a TAC claim (usually around $700) you will be responsible for paying for your Physiotherapy treatments.
The TAC may tell you that we can bill them directly, but this is not possible for us to do until we have your claim number and a letter of confirmation from the TAC. If you are not happy with this arrangement, please let us know and we can speak with you about it in more detail.
You must notify us BEFORE you enter your appointment that you are looking to claim your physiotherapy session through the TAC.
If you have been admitted to hospital as a result of your accident, you will usually have no excess to pay. However, we still require confirmation of this prior to your appointment. When you call to book in, just let us know your claim number & case manager and we will contact them directly on your behalf.

Step One

You may need to bring with you relevant documents relating to your TAC claim such as any correspondence from the TAC, scans, x-rays, doctors or surgeons reports.

Step Two

You will be asked to complete outcome measures which will then be submitted to the TAC along with a Physiotherapy Treatment Notification Plan (TNP).

Step Three

As soon as your excess is met, the TAC will provide us with a letter stating that they have approved a certain number of physiotherapy sessions. You will also be sent a copy of this letter.
We hope this answers some of the initial questions that you may have. Please call us on (03) 9873 3333 if you would like to discuss this further.
